PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

To my fellow undergraduates,

I am excited to serve as the Interim President of UOIT’s Faculty of Business and Information Technology Student Society for the 2018-19 Academic Year. I am currently a 4th year Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting major at UOIT. During my undergraduate career at UOIT I have had the pleasure of being an executive on the university’s Accounting Association for three years. My experiences (extra-curricular, academic, and professionally) at UOIT have allowed me to obtain a large scope of knowledge about the faculty; and I am thrilled to lead BITSoc for the 2018-19 term.

Over the years I have noticed UOIT is lucky to have a faculty that comprises of both business and information technology undergraduates; and I believe we need to start embracing this distinction and using it as our competitive advantage. Over the 2018-19 term it is my mission to ensure we conquer the three strategic pillars of UOIT: to innovate, challenge and connect. BITSoc will implement innovation in the sub-societies and the events we offer, challenge the status quo by improving our reach year-over-year, and finally connecting our undergraduates from the Commerce and Information Technology bachelors through their sub-societies collaboration.

Finally, BITSoc’s main objective is to provide a legitimate voice for UOIT undergraduate students in FBIT. In order to reach this objective, I will need your input throughout the year. If you’re an undergraduate in FBIT and have ideas you would like heard, I urge you to reach out to me directly by using the contact information adjacent – or stop me in the halls, I always have time to chat about improving BITSoc!

Thank you for your support.

Best Regards,

Nick Boodhoo
2018-19 Interim President, BITSoc
